GAMBARAN BEBAN IBU SEBAGAI CAREGIVER ANAK DENGAN SKIZOFRENIA DI POLIKLINIK RAWAT JALAN RSJD DR. AMINO GONDOHUTOMO PROVINSI JAWA TENGAH

Abstract

Mother as the primary caregiver in the care of people with schizophrenia can cause the impact cause burden that affects the quality of life like physical or mental health of the mother. The mother burden also have an impact in the process of taking care of or accompanying people with schizophrenia. The purpose of this study is to know the description of the mother burden who is caring for a child with schizophrenia in each domain at the Dr RSJD Amino Gondohutomo Central Java. This research is a descriptive method quantitative research survey. Sampling technique used is a non probability sampling and the samples are 102. The results showed that most respondents feel mild burden of 36.3% and 32.4% of moderate burden, then most respondents feel burden in the loss of control over one's life with an average 1.66 and the smallest average 1.08 for social and family life domain. It can be concluded that the burden felt by the mothers in the category of mild burden and on loss of control over one's life domain. Based on the research results, it is advisable for the hospital and the nurses to give adequate information support on good care processes, health promotion about coping strategies, and stress management counseling to prevent and lowering the burden of caregiver.
