Abstract

This research begins with the imbalance that occurs between the number of assets of Islamic banks in Indonesia which is not comparable with the amount of assets in conventional banks, whereas with the number of Muslim population in Indonesia that dominate, the banking assets can not represent the number of residents who should be expected to join as a customer Islamic Bank. In addition, the low syariah financial literacy that only has an index of 8.1%. This indicates a lack of awareness, attitudes and behaviors that are active and positive in response to the existence of sharia banking. This research will use quantitative method by distributing questionnaires, the questionnaire will include 24 questions representing the variables in the research, namely awareness, attitude and behavior to collect data of respondents to be viewed through sociodemographic profile, to see the difference of the average response based on the factor sociodemographic ie sex, age, education level, income level and marital status in lecturers, teachers, students, and high school students. This study uses the method of analysis of variance or ANOVA in the measurement The result of this research is that the response based on the grouping of sex, education level, and marital status give effect to the average indicator that is awareness, attitude and behavior toward sharia banking
