Gambaran Harapan pada Orang dengan Skizofrenia (ODS) di Ruang Rawat Inap RSJD Dr. Amino Gondohutomo Provinsi Jawa

Abstract

The mental disorder experienced by People with Schizophrenia (PWS) affects their expectations in life. The aim of this study was to find out the description of expectations in people with schizophrenia. The research method used descriptive survey research design. The sample size was 71 respondents with incidental sampling technique. The data collection was done using questionnaire of respondent characteristics (demographic data and clinical data) and SHS-9 (Schizophrenia Hope Scale) questionnaire. Using a descriptive statistic test, univariate analysis was used to analyze the data. The results showed that 59 PWS (83.1%) had low expectations and 12 PWS (16.9 %) had high expectation (Mean = 8.96; SD = 3.391). In positive expectation domain, the highest expectation is in the statement that there is a better future and will be happy in the future (12.7%) while the lowest expectation is to plan for the future (9.9%). In the domain of self-confidence, the confidence is highest in self-confidence with life (14.1%) whereas the confidence is low in confidence in the future (11.3%). In the domain of meaning of life is only 14.1% who stated strongly agreed that they had a meaningful life. This study recommends the need for nursing interventions, one of which is through the Hope Enhancement Program as an effort to prevent and handle the problem of hope in people with schizophrenia.
