Abstract
ABSTRACT Asri, Alfi Lutfiana. 2018. “Struktur dan Makna Kotowaza yang Mengandung Unsur Hi ‘Api’”. A thesis, Department of Japanese Language and Culture Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The Advisor S.I. Trahutami, S.S, M.Hum. This study analyzes the kotowaza which use the word hi ‘fire’ in Japanese language. This study aims to describe the structure and meaning of kotowaza Japanese language that contains elements of hi ‘fire’. This study uses the data obtained from dictionaries, journals, and Japanese websites. The data were collected by the technique of record. This study also analyzes the structure and meaning of kotowaza which contains hi 'api' elements using method of qualitative descriptive and method of informal presentation of data analysis result, that is presenting the result of data analysis with words. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that (1) theres 7 kotowaza structure of Japanese language, namely: kotowaza using syllable pattern 7-5, 7-7, 5-5, kotowaza using conditional sentence structure, kotowaza using comparative sentence structure , kotowaza using numbers, kotowaza using description, kotowaza using imperative sentence, kotowaza which equate two things. (2) The meaning of hi 'fire' in kotowaza Japanese language containing hi 'fire' has 7 meanings, such as: danger, problem, cause, light, needs, self control, important thing.
