Abstract
ABSTRACT Izhharuddin, Muhammad. 2018. "The Manifestation of Giri and Ninjou Reflected in Friendship of Main Character Luffy and Bentham on Anime One Piece Eiichiro Oda's Masterpiece (the study of Literary Anthropology)". Thesis, Language and Culture of Japan, University of Diponegoro, Semarang. Advisor: Fajria Noviana, S.S., M.Hum. The purpose of this research is to know the culture of giri and ninjou on friendly relationship which is reflected in the character Luffy and Bentham in anime One Piece that widely known by people in Japan even the people in the world due to the theme with the background of cultural moral values of Japanese nation. The methods used in this research is qualitative, descriptive methods with the study of librarianship. Used to analyze theory is a theory of narrative structure as well as the theory of giri and ninjou. The theory of narrative structure is used to analyze the elements of narrative in the film. While the literary anthropology approach is used to examine the works of literature from the perspective of Ethnography to view values that are already widespread in society which applicated in the anime. The results of this research can be aware that culture and society Japan ninjou giri found in anime One Piece is very concerned with the overall occurrence on the characters in the story. There are seven scenes giri which are divided according to the characteristics, that is atatakai and tsumetai giri and type, that is giri to the world andgiri to the name. Then, there are five scene ninjou shown through actions that are done in a sincere character ofLuffy and Bentham. Friendly relations between the two main characters are the main causes of the emergence of a culture of giri and ninjou. Keywords: GiriandNinjou, Literary Anthropology, One Piece
