Abstract
ABSTRACT Novitasari,Prabarani, M. “Self Efficacy of Character Sayaka in Birigyaru Movie Directed by Nobuhiro Doi (Social Cognitive Review). Final Project. Japanese Studies Department Fakulty of Humanities. Diponegoro University Lecturer. AdvisorsZaki Ainul Fadli,S.S, M.Hum, and Dewi Saraswati Sakariah, M.Si Birigyaru movie tells about Sayaka Kudo, 17 years old and a high school student. She is a gyaru who wears miniskirts and has her hair dyed blonde. Even though she is a high school student, her academic level is on par with 4th grade elementary school students. During the summer, Sayaka attends a private tutor institution. She meets Tsubota for the first time. After meet with Tsubota, Sayaka for the first time has a purpose. Her purpose is going to Keio University. Sayaka begins to change. She studies hard and finally passes an entrance exams for Keio University. Purpose of this study is to analyze self efficacy of a main character namely Sayaka Kudo. The data which was used for this research was Birigyaru movie directed by Nobuhiro Doi released in 2015. There were two theories which were used by the researcher. Firstly, Theory of Understanding Film by Himawan Pratista in order to analyse film-forming elements. Secondly, the researcher used Theory of Social Cognitive as developed by Albert Bandura. It can be concluded that from the result of analysis,kinds of high efficacy of Sayaka are brave in facing challenges, hard to give up,and highly responsible for achieving her goals.
