Abstract
This research is about critical analysis on blaming the victim news at Suaramerdeka.com. The problems studied in this research are: (1) how to describe the blaming the victim on the news at Suaramerdeka.com?; (2) how is the editorial policy Suaramerdeka.com blaming the victim? The theory used are Gender Structuration and Feminist Radical Cultural. The results stated that at the micro level, the occurrence of blaming the victim due to not involved rape victims as news sources (gender alienation). In addition, in micro-level analysis, it was found that the use of biased diction presupposes women as sex objects. The results of research at the meso level in text production practice, it is known that the practice of blaming the victim occurred due to several things as follows: (1) In the process of news search by journalists are not preferred to seek opinions of other sources as a balance. (2) SOP treatment on sexual violence news is limited to disguising the victim's name and not expressing identity clearly. (3) often news of sexual violence not being followed up (4) Absence of Editor in Chief handling crime area. (5) The absence of gender training of Suaramerdeka.com personnel. While the findings relate to the practice of text consumption states that the generation of Z as a potential reader Suaramerdeka.com contributed to the dominant meaning of the media offered. Furthermore, the findings at the macro level indicate that the source of blaming the victim news also blamed the rape victim due to the patriarchal culture that is believed. In addition, patriarchal culture causes the professional practices of journalism to be fade away.
