Abstract
The purposes of research were to known the effects of Chickens Kinds (Kedu, Arab and Buras Supermaron /BSM) and protein levels (k12, 15 and 18%) on protein efficiency was done on July until September 2009 at Poultry Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Agriculture Diponegoro University. The materials used were three kinds of chickens each 60 birds unsex at 4 weeks of age, was blocked to 4 blocks consider to body weight. Randomized block design with split plot pattern was used, consists of 3 treatments and 4 replications. The data was analysed using anova with supported with SAS. The parameters observers were body weight gain (BWG), protein consumption (PC) and protein efficiency ratio (PER). The results shown that increasing protein levels to 18% significantly (P<0,05) increase BWG, and PC on 68 weeks old chickens, but at 10 week old did not different. PER significantly (P<0,05) higher at 12% protein level. BSM chicken at 8 week old the BWG and PER were significantly (P<0,05) higher than Kedu and Arab chickens. The conclusion of this research were Kedu, BSM and Arab chickens at 6-8 weeks old need 18% protein in the diet, but at 10 week old only 12%. Key Words: BWG, chicken kinds, protein levels, PC and PER
