ANALISIS KONTRASTIF KONJUNGSI NONI DALAM BAHASA JEPANG DAN KONJUNGSI WALAUPUN DALAM BAHASA INDONESIA 「日本語の接続詞“のに”とインドネシア語の接続詞“Walaupun” の対照分析」

The issues which were addressed in this thesis: 1. How is the structure and what is the meaning of conjunction noni in Japanese and conjunction walaupun in Indonesian? 2. What are the similarities and differences of conjunction noni and conjunction walaupun? The purposes of this research were: 1. Describing the structure and meaning of conjunction noni in Japanese and conjunction walaupun in Indonesian language. 2. Describing the similarities and differences of conjunction noni in Japanese and conjunction walaupun in Indonesian. The research data were obtained from novels, magazines and electronic mass media. Data collection method in this thesis refers to the observation and writing technique. Moreover, the analysis method is based on the contrast method. The data were analyzed using Japanese dictionary and Indonesian dictionary. The presentation of the study results was done by informal method which is explained with simple words. Based on the study results, the similarities and differences between the two conjunctions are: Conjunction noni and conjunction walaupun are in the middle of the sentence in terms of structure. The two conjunctions also have the opposite meaning, and the predicate could be filled with verbs, adjectives and nouns. In the other hand, the difference between the two conjunctions is in terms of the structure. Conjunction noni could not be placed at the beginning of the sentence while conjunction walaupun could be placed at the beginning of the sentence. Conjunction noni could be placed at the end of the sentence while the conjunction walaupun could not be placed at the end of the sentence. The conjunction noni has several meanings than the conjunction walaupun and the predicate of conjunction walaupun could be filled with the numeric predicate and also preposition while the conjunction noni could not be filled with such predicates.
