Abstract

The training held at BBPLK Semarang is a type of Competency Based Training. Competency Based Training (PBB) is a job training that focuses on the mastery of work skills that includes knowledge, skills and attitudes in accordance with established standards and requirements in the workplace. The problems that occur are the number of labor force or unemployment as many as 889,295 people in 2014 with a percentage of 5.07%. The percentage is the highest in Central Java in 2014, the skills of prospective employment in Semarang city is not in accordance with the needs in the industrial world of Semarang city and the implementation of Training in BBPLK Semarang is only 480 hours Training or equivalent of three months, while the formation of attitudes takes time A very long time. Based on the problem, it is necessary to conduct research on the effectiveness of training for the community in BBPLK Semarang and the factors that encourage and hamper the effectiveness of training in BBPLK Semarang. The results of field research show the effectiveness of training in BBPLK Semarang in the training to produce competent graduates are considered effective although there are some things of concern. Skills and knowledge of graduates of BBPLK Semarang can increase well while work attitude is improved but not significantly increased. Factors that encourage the effectiveness of training consist of training materials, methods used, the ability of trainees / instructors training and the quality of the participants. The inhibiting factor of the effectiveness of training in BBPLK Semarang is a response that is still less rapid and responsive in the repair of damaged equipment. Training will not work effectively if there is equipment that is damaged and not repaired.
