Non-performing Loan (NPL) is the sum of borrowed money upon which the debtor has not made his scheduled payments for at least 90 days. A non-performing loan is either in default or close to being in default due to internal factors and / or external factors. A high NPL ratio causes a decline in profit to be received by the bank. Decrease in profits also resulted in decreased dividends so that the growth rate of bank stock return will decrease. This study aims to examine the effect of Cost Efficiency / BOPO, LDR, LAR, and SIZE on NPL ratio in conventional commercial banks in Indonesia in the period 2011-2016. The samples used in this study are 29 commercial banks listed on the IDX, and have consistently published financial reports in 2011-2016. The method of analysis used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis with the classical assumption test. The results of this study indicate that Cost Efficiency / BOPO, LDR, and SIZE have positive and significant effect on NPL, while LAR have no significant effect on NPL.
