Abstract

Since the establishment of Republic of Ireland, their foreign policy is neutral. For example in world war II, when most of the European country going to war (either as allied force, or axis power), Ireland choose to be a neutral. But in the Israel-Palestine conflict, Ireland Government didn’t seen as a neutral country, even Ireland seen as an opposite toward Israel. Ireland has been supporting Palestine no too long after Israel formed. If we see, most of European country is a supporter of Israel, but Ireland choose the different ways, Ireland is a supporter of Palestine. This research aim to analyze Irish attitude after Israel independence, with case study: Israel-Palestine conflict. To analyze Ireland foreign policy in Israel-Palestine conflict, this research uses neo-realist theory and interest group theory. The method that is used in this research is qualitative method with descriptive-analytical type through interviews and literature technics. Outcomes from this research is: there is a national interest that Ireland want to accomplished from this conflict. Other than that there is two factors that influencing Ireland policy in this conflict, that is internal and external factor. In internal factor, Nationalist group is influencing Ireland foreign policy. In external factor, there is “Vatican factor” in Ireland that influencing Ireland policy in this conflict.
