Abstract

After the outbreak of terrorism case in 2002, the Government of Indonesia believes terrorism cases will not be solved by on using hard approach such as the police work, Indonesia must have a body responsible for handling soft approach to prevent and solve the radicalism which spreads and causes the case of terrorism in Indonesia, then in 2010, BNPT was formed as a response. As a member of the United Nation, BNPT subsequently established a partnership with TPB UNODC which focused on the issue of global terrorism. This research is intended to understand the role of TPB UNODC in a cooperation with BNPT on the prevention of radicalism and terrorism crime in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive-explanative type with literature and technique study. To answering the question, this research used the constructivism paradigm which supported by the result of interview with the members of BNPT RI and UNODC Indonesia. The results of this study indicated that the cooperation between BNPT and TPB UNODC helped Indonesia to develop the quality of BNPT RI as an organization in terms of strategy, relation or capacity, supported by indicators listed in the UNODC report and with successful result of counter radicalization and deradicalisation programmed.
