One of the method to increase the family efficacy as the caregiver is through the implementation of Psychoeducation Family Therapy so that the families’ confidence as the caregiver can be increased and finnaly improve the quality of the client’s life. This study aimed to analyze the effects of psychoeducation family therapy using Calgary Family Intervention Model (CFIM) on the improvement of family efficacy as the caregiver. The research method used was quasy experiment with the research design of pretest-posttest with the control group design. The population of the study was families in Sumberadi, Mlati, Sleman, Yogyakarta.The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, which included 17 families both in the intervention and the control group. The measurements of family efficacy used questionnaire sheets referring to the NIMH-Family Efficacy Scale. The data were analyzed by paired t-test. The results showed that the average of the family before the implementation psychoeducation family therapy was 34.06 in the intervention group and 32.47 in the control group. After the implementation of the psychoeducation, the family efficacy was 36.60 in the intervention group and 31.52 in the control group. The results of the statistical tests showed that there were significant differences in the value of efficacy of the families as caregiver before and after the implementation of therapy in the intervention group. The psychoeducation family therapy using Calgary Family Intervention Model (CFIM) effectively increased the efficacy of the family as caregiver ODS.
