ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN GAYA BAHASA PADA CERPEN IMOGAYU KARYA AKUTAGAWA RYUUNOSUKE 芥川龍之介がかいた『芋粥』という短編小説における修辞技法の研究

Abstract

ABSTRACT Silvia, 2018. “Figurative Language of Short Story Imogayu Written by Akutagawa Ryuunosuke”, Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Consultant: Fajria Noviana, S.S., M.Hum. The purpose of this research is to describe the types of figurative language and the function of the usage for each of those figurative language in short story Imogayu.The method of this research is qualitative descriptive library method. The theory that used for analyzing the data is theory of figurative language by Seto Kenichi. This theory was applied to analyze the figurative language in the short story Imogayu. The second theory is the function of the language style by Gorys Keraf. This theory was applied to analyze the function of the usage of language style in this story. The result of this research is there are sixteen types of figurative language in the Imogayu short story; simile, personification, synesthesia, metonimia, sinekdoc, hyperbola, tautology, oxymoron, repetition, parentheses, retisense, inversion, antithesis, onomatope, climax, and allegory. As for the function of the figurative language is to explain, strengthen, make the dead object as if it is alive, stimulate the association, and for decoration.
