Abstract
ABSTRAK KINERJA PENGURANGAN Pb (II) PADA LAPISAN SEMI-KEDAP KOMPOSIT BENTONIT DAN ZEOLIT Studi Kasus : TPA Jatibarang Kota Semarang Dona Suci Ramadani, M. Arief Budiharjo, Budi Prasetyo Samadikun Lindi di TPA Jatibarang Kota Semarang mengandung logam timbal (Pb) yang berasal dari sampah. Sistem lapisan dasar semi kedap TPA berfungsi sebagai penghalang agar lindi yang berada di TPA tidak meresap ke dalam tanah. Salah satu mekanisme perpindahan ion logam berat dari lindi TPA adalah difusi melalui lapisan semi kedap yang terpasang. Oleh karena itu, lapisan semi kedap TPA harus mampu mencegah secara efektif migrasi ion logam berat dari TPA ke tanah sekitar. Bentonit memiliki kemampuan permeabilitas yang sangat rendah sehingga banyak digunakan sebagai material semi kedap TPA. Namun, kemampuan bentonit dalam menyerap ion logam berat terbatas. Sehingga diperlukan bahan tambahan yang memiliki kemampuan adsorpsi tinggi sebagai bahan campuran bentonit. Salah satu material yang memiliki kemampuan menyerap logam berat adalah zeolit. Sehingga, kombinasi antara bentonit dan zeolit dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif material yang handal untuk melapisi TPA menjadi lebih kedap. Material semi kedap bentonit berpengaruh terhadap perilaku migrasi timbal (Pb), dibuktikan dengan adanya penurunan konsentrasi timbal (Pb) pada bentonit murni. Komposit bentonit dan zeolit mampu meminimalkan potensi migrasi timbal (Pb), dibuktikan dengan adanya efisiensi penurunan konsentrasi timbal (Pb) pada komposit bentonit dan zeolit dengan variasi yang berbeda. Arief Budiharjo, Budi Prasetyo Samadikun Leachate at TPA Jatibarang Semarang City contains lead metal (Pb) coming from garbage. The semi-impermeable base layer system of the landfill serves as a barrier so that the leachate in the landfill does not seep into the soil. One of the mechanisms of heavy metal ion transfer from the landfill leachate is diffusion through the semi-impermeable layer attached. Therefore, the semi-impermeable layer of the TPA should be able to effectively prevent the migration of heavy metal ions from the landfill to the surrounding soil. Bentonite has a very low permeability capability so widely used as semi-impermeable material TPA. However, the ability of bentonite in absorbing heavy metal ions is limited. Therefore, additional material which has high adsorption ability as bentonite material is required. One material that has the ability to absorb heavy metals is zeolite. Thus, the combination of bentonite and zeolite can be used as a reliable alternative material as an impermeable layer. The semi-impermeable material of bentonit has an effect on lead migration behavior (Pb), as evidenced by the decrease of lead concentration (Pb) on pure bentonite. The bentonite and zeolite composites were able to minimize the potential for leachate migration of lead (Pb), as evidenced by the efficiency of lead concentration reduction (Pb) in bentonite and zeolite composites with different variations.
