Abstract

Personal Selling is a form of promotion by using a direct communication system that can allow for mutual / two-way communication between salespeople and potential customers, so that salespeople can actively visit potential customers to offer a product. This research has a purpose to know how the implementation of personal selling motorcycle yamaha at PT. Yamaha Harpindo Jaya Thamrin Branch Semarang City, barriers faced by personal selling actors and solutions to overcome these obstacles, and yamaha motorcycle sales results by applying personal selling. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method / method of data collection through interview, observation, and literature study at PT. Yamaha Harpindo Jaya Branch Thamrin Semarang City. Implementation of the promotion used at PT. Yamaha Harpindo Jaya Branch Thamrin Semarang City in the sale of motorcycle that is using personal selling system by using step prospecting to prospective consumer, approach / follow up prospective consumer, presentation or discussion of prospective consumer presentation, settlement of bidding / agreement with consumer, Further consumer certainty. Barriers that occur in the implementation of personal selling is the refusal to meet, difficult to get information, and dissent. Suggestions to overcome these obstacles, salespeople approach the prospective customers who usually work or outside the office and seek information from relations / colleagues. It is concluded that the implementation of personal selling motorcycle at PT. Yamaha Harpindo Jaya Thamrin Branch Semarang City although personal selling is said to be an effective promotion, but still there are shortcomings or not in accordance with company expectations.
