Abstract
Abstract Background : Anemia is a significant public health problem in West Nusa Tenggara, especially in developing countries, affecting the lives of many children, adolescents and women every year. According to WHO (2012), around 25-40% of teenagers in Southeast Asia diagnozed of anemia low and high level, it caused of lack magnezium from food consumed, where the magnezium consumtion in adolescents is very low around 3.72 mg this make the adolecences are susceptible to anemia. data on the prevalence of anemia indicated high in adolescents, without any trend for improvement. The purpose of this reserach is to determine how the anemia incidence in adolescent in Selaparang Public Health Center Work Area Mataram. Methodhology : In order to achieve the objectives of the study a descriptive observational research study was used. The data was collected and fallowed with hemoglobin test for assessing anemia among 72 adolescent girls of selected schools at SMPN 6 Mataram. Non probability in which convenient sampling was used for sample selection. Instruments of data collection using questionnaires and inspection of Hb. The results : The research obtained Hb 10-12.0 g I dl were 58 respondents (80,5%), Hb 7 to 9.9 g / dl were 14 respondents (19,4%). And the results of the research conducted on 72 respondents who had anemia most of them are unhealth diet with 36 respondents (48.6%), unhealth lifestyle with 68 respondents (94.4%), unfavorable activity patterns with 41 respondents ( 56.9%), and unhealth mestruasion period with 30 respondents (42,0%). So, diet or eating pattern, lifestyle, activity patterns and mestruasion period are influence on Hb. So it can as the factor causing anemia. Congclusion : The research results is expected for SMPN 6 Mataram, it can develop programs related to health education in environment, and involve to socialize the students about the importance of diet or eating pattern, lifestyle, activity patterns and mestruation periods to prevent anemia during adolescence, especially in SMPN 6 Mataram.
