PENGARUH STRUKTUR MODAL, KARAKTERISTIK INTERNAL DAN EKSTERNAL BANK TERHADAP KINERJA BANK UMUM SYARIAH (Studi Empiris pada Bank Umum Syariah di Indonesia dan Malaysia Tahun 2011-2015)

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of capital structure, internal and external characteristics of banks on the performance of sharia commercial banks. The capital structure is measured by the capital ratio. Internal bank characteristics are measured by consumer financing and short-term financing, non-earning assets, overhead costs, bank size and capital risk. The external characteristics of the bank are measured by GDP growth, anticipated inflation, financial structure factors, tax costs and local market effects. The performance of sharia bank is measured using return on equity. The population in this study are all sharia commercial banks in Indonesia and Malaysia in 2011-2015. The number of samples in this study was 135. After going through the data processing stage, there were 3 samples which were outlier data to be excluded from the study, so the final number of observable samples was 132. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that the management of sources of funds and inflation have a significant effect on the performance of sharia commercial banks. While capital ratios, fund usage management, overhead costs, bank size, capital risk, GDP growth, financial market structure, local market tax and securities have no significant effect on the performance of sharia commercial banks.
