Thesis, Department of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The Advisor Fajria Noviana, S.S., M.Hum. This research aims to explain about education values in the novel entitled Nijuushi no Hitomi by Sakae Tsuboi. This novel tells about a teacher named Hisako Ōishi who has twelve students and they are lives in a small village in cape of Seto river. Amidst the struggle on the world war era, Hisako Ōishi was still striving for her student’s education. The method used in this research is literature study. The theory used in this research is sociology of literature theory to analyze the education values in the novel. The results show that Nijuushi no Hitomi novel contains social education values and moral education values. Social education values that were found in this research are friendship, responsibility, consideration and kindness, gratitude and respect, politeness, group participation, and help each other. Moral education values that were found was moderation, diligence (in work), sincerity, self-improvement, consideration for life, respect for family members, respect for teachers, and consideration for tradition and love for own nation. Culture education values that were found in this research are feeling and consideration. Keyword: education values, sociology of literature, novel
