Abstract
ABSTRACT Alisha Tamara Putri Alisjahbana, 2018.” Analyse the main character on Hachiko Monogatari Film”.Japanese Department Thesis, Diponegoro University, Semarang. SupervisorI Yuliani Rahmah, S.Pd, M.Hum. Supervisor II Dewi Saraswati Sakariah, S.S, M.Si. Hachiko Monogatari is a film by Seijiro Koyama. The movie HachikoMonogatariA Dog' Story is based on a true story that took in first half of the 20th century in Japan. HachikoMonogatari film tells about a loyal dog named Hachiko. Professor Ueno adoptHachiko from his friends. Professor Ueno loves Hachiko like he loves his daughter,Hachiko very special friend would accompany Professor Ueno to the train station every day and return each afternoon to greet him after work. Sadly, Professor Ueno departs one day, passes away and never returns to the station. Hachiko faithfully returns to the same spot at the station every day and every next day for the next ten years to wait for his beloved Professor. HachikoMonogatari film teaches the loyalty of a dog to the professor And a caring from professor Ueno to the Hachiko. The methods is to obtain data with literatures. This research using a naratif methods with uncovering the elements of literature that build up the whole meaning. Besides using naratif methods, this research also using the approach literature progress personality psyco-social. Erik Erikson’s theory is used in this research. The result is that the progress of Professor Ueno character has a personality, such as; kind, lovely, emphatic,caring. The main character's personality structure is dominated by Progress number 8 Generativity vs Stagnancy.
