Abstract

ABSTRACT Lower extremity fractures can lead to physical disturbances such as pain, mobility impairment, fatigue, deformity and psychology such as depression, stress, anxiety, self-concept. Impaired self-concept in the patient can affect the body image and the patient's self-role. This study aims to determine the image of body image and the role of the patient's lower extremity fracture in early adulthood. This research is a descriptive quantitative. This study used non probability sampling technique with consecutive sampling method, the total respondents are 160 people. The results of the study identified the results of the study identified most of the body image are value positive 90 respondents (56.2%), while the of the body image aspect is divided into 7 domains obtained by 5 domains in the negative category consisting of physical atrractiveness (53.1%), body image satisfaction (54,4%), body concealment (53,1), social physique anxiety 59,4%), appearance comparison (53,8%), and for 2 domains with positive body image importance (66,9%), body improvement (63,5%). The role of self is mostly low value 96 respondents (60%).The conclusions of this study are a description of body image in patients with lower extremity fractures in the positive category and the patient's self-role is mostly low-value.
