Abstract

Diponegoro University. The First Advisor, Drs. Moh. Muzzaka, M.Hum. The Second Advisor, Nur Hastuti, S. S, M.Hum. This research explained the main character of the 1Q84's novel and attempts to actualize herself amid all the conflicts she faces with his character. The purpose of this research is to reveal self-actualization of the main character according to Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs. In achieving this, two major analyzes were conducted. First, the 1Q84's novel structural analysis includes characterizations, plot and background. Second, the analysis of humanistic psychology by using the Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The theory used in this research is humanistic psychology, through literature study and qualitative methods. Phase of analysis is done by collecting relevant data, then analyzed with structural theory and humanistic psychology, afterward the data presented descriptively. The results of research is Aomame can express themselves in accordance with what she wants. Although in the process of fulfillment has many problems, both from outside and within Aomame, with all her efforts and persistence she can overcome everything. Through her efforts and sacrifices, Aomame can achieve her actualization. Keywords: self-actualization, hierarchy of needs, 1Q84.
