Abstract

ABSTRACT Octariyan, Naftali Rifqi. 2017. “The Inner Conflict and Ego Defense Mechanism from Takiya Genji The Main Character’s on Film Crows Zero. An Psychoanalysis Study”. A Thesis for Department of Japanese, Diponegoro University. Advisor: Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd, M. Hum. This thesis using film as the object of the study entitled Crows Zero. This study supported by library research ti get the data. The theory that the writer use is theory of narrative unsure film, a conflict theory stated by Robert Stanton and Sigmund Freud’s theory of psychoanalysis that explaining about human personality. This study will explain about the inner conflict experienced by the main character which is Takiya Genji in the Crows Zero film. This study also will explain about the ego defense mechanism that the main character used to solve the conflict. The result of this study is TakiyaGenji have an ignorance, ambitious, temperamental, brutal and loyal characteristic. The inner conflict that Takiya Genji experienced is two different type of conflict. It is influenced by the external factors and internal factors. The external conflict that Genji experienced is when he had a conflict during the formation of GPS Gang and conflict with Tokio. Meanwhile, the internal conflict is when a conflict in Genji’s mind in case to accept the challenge from his father, conflict Genji challenging Serizawa to fight, Genji conflict when recruiting member for GPS Gangs, and when Genji wants to conquer Suzuran. The result is Genji have his own uniqueness. It is the superego which doing something based on moral is so dominating more than Id element which is doing something based on in seek of happiness. The solve the conflict that happen to Takiya Genji is using the ego defense mechanism to reduce the anxious feeling. Keywords: TakiyaGenji, Crows Zero, Inner conflict, and ego defense mechanism
