UNGKAPAN KULTURAL UPACARA ADAT OBONG MASYARAKAT KALANG KENDAL: TINJAUAN SEMANTIK KOGNITIF

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the meaning of the expression in a death tradition, community of Kalang. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The data consist of terms in ritual, in uborampe, and in mantra. Methods of data collection using observation techniques, interviews and documentation. The researchers found 22 cultural expressions of obong traditional ceremony. The expression in obong ceremony has references, such as terms of ritual, terms of uborampe, profession, places, the specific guidelines, action, and place which has primitive semantic, someone, something, event, action, doing, place, and others. In terms of their embodied experience, the lexical items may represent visual experience, body experience, feeling experience, social experience and cultural experience.
