Hubungan Dukungan Suami terhadap Tingkat Depresi pada Wanita Menopause

Abstract

Menopause was a sign of the end of menstruation. Menopause had some effects such as physical, psychological and sexuality changes. Depression in menopausal women was one of the psychological changes. Oftentimes, depression was experienced while faced transition. Therefore, support of husbands was need to lower the occurrence of depression. The aims of this study is to determine the relationship of husbands’ support about level of depression in menopausal women. This research is a quantitative research with cross sectional approach used purposive sampling. The total sample of this study about 121 respondents who has had experience menopause on Widodomartani Ngemplak Sleman Yogyakarta. There were two instruments that used to measure the level of depression that is BDI-II and husband support. The results showed there was a relationship between husbands’ support to depression level in menopausal women, test by statistical analysis with Spearman Rank obtain p value of 0.000 (p <0,05) and Spearman Rank correlation 0,858. Kader could to form Peer Group Support followed by husbands and menopausal women.
