Abstract
Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a crop of legumes or legume Fabaceae cultivated tribal members, as well as being the second most important legume after soybean in Indonesia. Peanut oil can generate about 30% -60%. Peanut oil is a vegetable oil that is used for cooking oil, the manufacture of margarine, mayonnaise, salad dressings and white butter, and has advantages when compared with other types of oil, because it can be used repeatedly for frying food bahann. Peanut oil extraction process can be done in two ways, among others, the pressing (pressing), danpelarut (solvent). Two common ways is by mechanical pressing methods include hydraulic presses (hydraulic pressing) and pressing threaded (hydraulic pressing). How hydraulic pressing need pre-treatment consists of the heating process in order to minimize the moisture content of the material. In this research study about the initial heating time and the pressure pressing against the acquisition of peanut oil with hydraulic pressing method (hydraulic pressing). Peanuts are heated to 90 ° C temperature variable and the variable time of 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes. Furthermore, peanuts are dry pressing is done with variable pressure 1200 psi and 1400 psi. The results of this study obtained the largest percentage of oil extraction in the variation of the initial warm-up time of 90 minutes with a pressure of 1400 psi pressing in the amount of 15.08%.
