Abstract
Distillation Engineering is one of the tools that are used in extracting the oil from the leaves or roots of plants belonging to the plant essential oils. Distilled water vapor is a way of extracting the oil primarily to material derived from the leaves and tubers of plants belonging to the essential oil. Need a preliminary way before the leaves on the flute in the press with distillation machine, such as perajangan, manufacture flake, or cooking. After a preliminary way in distilled using a distillation machine. Plant eucalyptus (Melalauca leucadendron Linn) is one of the essential oil producing plants that are important for the essential oil industry in Indonesia. The quality of raw materials eucalyptus leaves are still low, especially in Java only has a yield of 0.6% - 1.0%. Results of research by steam distillation method and the water yield of eucalyptus oil range between 0, 84% up to 1.21% .. The quality of eucalyptus oil itself determined by the magnitude of sineol levels. The greater the level of sineolnya, the quality of eucalyptus oil produced will be higher. The amount obtained sineol levels can be affected by several things, one of which is the refining technique.
