PEMBINGKAIAN BERITA SUARA MERDEKA (Analisis Framing dalam Penyajian Berita Konflik Pendirian Pabrik Semen di Rembang)

Abstract

Environment issues are increasingly getting attention from the press intitution. But the practice of environtment journalism is still rare. This study uses Suara Merdeka newspaper to see how the media frames the news text around environtment issues. This study explain how the newspaper Suara Merdeka framin news text about the conflict in the building of a cement factory in Rembang. The main consideration selection of Suara Merdeka because this mass media is one of the oldest newspapers in Central Java. With its big name, the voice of Suara Merdeka is certainly the main source of information for Central Java people, so that it will affect the public opinion of Central Java. This study is qualitative research with data form news discourse about conflict of cement factory building in Rembang which is published in Suara Merdeka. The main source of research amounted to 8 news taken within the period of October 2016 until April 2017. There is also an oral source of this research is the result of interviews with parties involved in the news text, such as interviewees. This research uses Gamson Modigliani model framing theory with framing device and reasoning device. The results of this study show that the news in Suara Merdeka is more about the ongoing legal process, the advantages and disadvantages of various parties if the cement plant is still built, as well as economic, social and political. The tools of moral claims are dominated by ideas of ideal leaders such as leaders who care about the environment and spatial, the good leaders who obey the law, the leaders who favor the interests of the people and so on. There is also a consequence of news of Suara Merdeka more beneficial to the government and PT Semen Indonesia. Keywords: Framing, Suara Merdeka, Cement Factory
