Abstract

Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro. Pembimbing 2. Prof. Dr. Mudjahirin Thohir, M.A dan Dra. Mirya Anggrahini, M.Hum. Palintangan script obtained author with manuscript collection catalogues studies of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia. In the catalog described KGB 249, 16 cm x 10,7 cm, 22 letters kind og Javanese Alphabet. This research used theories of pragmatics teory and Philology. The philology theory used for data collection, description of the script and transliteration script. The pragmatics theory used to the script Palintangan. Through both this theory is to knowing that the manuscript had a huge Palintangan pragmatic messeges delivered by the author. The result of this research data analysis described in descriptive method. Philological research on Palintangan there is still writing mistakes corrected by giving a footnote in word is corrupted. The script Palintangan analyzed is using a pragmatic approach in order to uncover the ancient culture of the result trough information forecast and character of seseprang in the script of Palintangan. Based on the analysis of pragmatics the researchers can take the conclusion that (1) the character and forecast in the script of Palintangan there is a relation to the primbon Java is still valid in most Javanese people who still believe in Palintangan script (2) distinguished into two part according to its function, myths and fact (3) mystical objects contained in the script of Palintangan.
