Abstract

The determination of freshwater fish farming location plays an important role in its relation to the development of freshwater fish farming business. Based on the regional characteristics of each location, the ideal fish farming location must meet some standard parameters that may affect the productivity of fish growth. These parameters were then set as criteria through Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Geographic Information System (GIS) process. The process of determining the fish farming location began with the weighting of each criterion. After that, each alternative location was assessed using ANP method. The assessment results were stored in a database and then visualized into the Geographic Information System (GIS) as the representation of the assessment results which was presented in the form of vector layer of the borderline and point marker. The spatial data was the digitizing result of base map using Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) projection which was made to cover the lack of spatial information that has not been provided by Google satellite map. From the test results, it was found that the system could provide the information related to the best alternative location for the development of freshwater fish farming business. Keywords: Analytic Network Process (ANP), Geographic Information System (GIS), the location of freshwater fish farming.
