Abstract
Anggita, Dewi. 2017. “Determination of Time and the Kinship Plot of Aceh, Kerinci, Manado, and Melayu Riau languages”. Research Paper. Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Adviser I: Dr. M. Suryadi, M.Hum. and Adviser II: Drs. Mujid Farihul Amin, M.Pd. This research aims to determine the time period of separation and classification the kinship line between Aceh, Kerinci, Manado and Melayu Riau languages based on Lexicostatistics calculation. The data obtained as much as 419 vocabularies from each language. The data source is obtained from the Dictionary which contains the languages to be compared. Data were collected using referential method with advanced technique that is noted technique. In the data analysis will be used quantitative analysis with the method of classifying languages, while the technique used is Lexicostatistics technique. The result of the study showed Aceh, Kerinci, Manado, and Melayu riau languages are included in one family of language. Quantitative evidence found in the form of cognate similarity between Manado and Melayu Riau language reached 72%, Kerinci and Manado language is 68%, Kerinci and Melayu Riau language is 65%, Aceh and Kerinci language is 48%, Aceh and Manado language is 46%, Aceh and Riau language is 58%. Aceh and Kerinci languages were a single languages at 1.786 – 1.596 years ago, presumably starting to separate from proto-language between 231 – 711 SM (calculated in 2017). Aceh and Manado languages were a single languages at 1.889 – 1.691 years ago, presumably starting to separate from proto language between 128 – 326 SM (calculated in 2017). Aceh and Melayu Riau languages were a single language at 1.333 – 1.177 years ago, presumably starting to separate from proto-language between 684 – 840 SM (calculated in 2017). Kerinci and Manado languages were a single languages at 958 – 890 years ago, presumably starting to separate from proto language between 1.059 – 1.127 M (calculated in 2017). Kerinci and Melayu Riau languanges were a single languages at 1.067 – 921 years ago, estimated to start splitting from proto language between 950 - 1.186 M (calculated in 2017). Manado and Melayu Riau languages were a single languages at 850 – 693 years ago, predicted to begin separating from the proto language between 907 – 1.324 M (calculated in 2017).
