PERISTILAHAN BAHASA JAWA DALAM ‘MENATAH’ WAYANG PURWA DI WAYANG VILLAGE KABUPATEN WONOGIRI (SEBUAH KAJIAN ANTROPOLINGUISTIK)

Abstract

The purposes of this research are 1) to describe morphology structure of Javanese terminology lexicon in menatah wayang purwa in Wonogiri regency; 2) to explain the meaning of the lexicon of Javanese terminology in menatah wayang purwa in Wonogiri; 3) to explain cultural reflection on Javanese terminology in menatah wayang purwa in Wonogiri. This is a descriptive qualitative research which describe the language data based on morphological structure, lexicon meaning and cultural reflectoin. The data was collected by using pancing techniques and was analyzed using the method of distribution and padan method. The research used structural theory and the theory of language relativity. The results of the analysis show that there are two forms of morphological structures, namely monomorphemic and polymorphemic. The lexicon in monomorphemic form is divided into two-syllable and three-syllable lexicon. The examples of two-syllable form of monomorphemic are thindih, tatah, gandhen, malam, ungkal, kukon; the examples of the three-syllable one are makuta, dawala, seluar and suwelan. The terminology lexicon in menatah wayang purwa in the form of polymorphemic is grouped by the affixation, repetition, and composition. There are 10 affixes lexicon, including pandhukan, bubukan, tratasan, and jarotan. There are 4 repetition lexicon, namely unton-unton, mas-masan, intan-intanan and irah-irahan. Furthermore, there is only one composition lexicon which is kelat bahu. The terminology which includes the phrase in this study is very dominant; thee are 48 lexicon such as tratasan biasa, kukon biasa, kukon pancasan and so on. The result of meaning analysis are grouped based on the tools used, the form of tatahan and the perabot wayang. Finally the cultural reflection found is the uniqueness of wayang gagrak Surakarta in Wonogiren style, the ritual of menatah wayang, the making of bedhahan wayang, wanda or wayang expression and the cultural meaning in perabot wayang.
