Abstract
There are much complex cultures appeared as the result of “paradigm process in a modern era. New dimensions are fruitful until all experiences and sciences become relative because they tend to be the result of human activity. These human activities identically with culture, so culturesare the result of human activities. Nusantara is the name of Indonesia’s culture that can be observed through language and culture of a local language-culture. One of Nusantara language-culture is Sundanese as the local language-culture of West Java. This paper try to analyze nation’s character building through one of Sundanese language-culture such as idioms and Proverbs. The data can be analyzed in order to build the character of nations in West Java through language-culture. The comparative of character can be analyzed through this data and will come to the conclusion that every nation has their own character which can be observed through their own idioms and proverbs as the universal one. That every nations has their own ethnicity and language-culture which is inherited from their paternity. Qualitative research method is used here with the descriptive data empirically. Character building is analyzed according to the theories of Hornby & Parnwell (1972), Abourjilie (2002), Hidayatullah (2009), Djajasudarma (2016) to name a few.
