KECEMASAN TOKOH EMI DALAM NOVEL PILLOW TALK KARYA CHRISTIAN SIMAMORA KAJIAN PSIKOLOGI SASTRA

Indonesian Language and Literature Departement Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University. Supervisor (1) Drs. Moh. Muzakka, M.Hum., and (2) Laura Andri R.M, S.S, M.A. The research examines about the anxiety of Emi Characters in the novel Pillow Talk. The purpouse of this research is to reveal the elements of the characters, plot, and setting in the novel Pillow Talk and reveals anxiety sufferd by the main characters. The method used in this research is reading followed by the recording technique. Data were studied and analyzed using structural theory and anxiety by Sigmund freud. Result of the analysis structural obtained the result that main characther in a novel Pillow Talk is Emi. The plot that was used was a mix of plot or a plot flash-back. The setting is found in the novel Pillow Talk is devided into three, setting the place, wich is divided into two place in Jakarta and Bali. setting the time, featured in the novel, morning, noon, and night. Social background, wich is reflection in this novel is about the social life that is lived by the main character depiciting life in her intercours. The result of the analysis of anxiety towards the character Emi showed that has three types of anxiety, the realistic anxiety, the morality anxiaty and neurotic anxiety.
