LEKSIKON DALAM TRADISI MERON DI SUKOLILO KABUPATEN PATI

Abstract

The ceremony of tradisi meron contains special lexicons that is interesting to be recited such as aboge, mustaka, jagoan, gunungan, mejid, mancungan, cucur, ampyang, once, ron wandhira, ancak, woh-wohan, sega ruruh, arak-arakan and tirakatan. Through the lexicons, the cultural values that shows the life of Sukolilo’s society, Pati regency, is can be seen. The similar previous study about the cultural values on tradisi meron that is recited by its language aspects has not been done before. This research aimed to reveal the cultural values of Sukolilo’s society through the lexicons found in tradisi meron, and to recite the lexicon meaning of tradisi meron and its lingual form. The supplying data methods used in this research were observation and interviewing with elicitation method. The interviewing method has done by recording technique and continued by noting technique. The data has analyzed by using descriptive quantitative analysis that include data reduction, data serving and conclusion. Data reduction was used to classify the data as much as it is needed. In serving the data, the steps used were analysing its lingual form, meaning and the cultural values shown in the lexicons tradisi meron. The results of this research showed the cultural values of Sukolilo’s society in Pati regency through the lexicons found on tradisi meron. Those values are religious, social and cultural values. The religious value has shown by lexicons ancak and gunungan. Ancak depics the steps to attain the perfection on believing Islam, and gunungan depicts thankful toward God. The social value has shown by lexicons iber-iber, arak-arakan and tirakatan. Iber-iber as the symbolisation of the stake holders’ careness on its societies. The lexicon tirakatan symbolizes social and religious value. Tirakatan functioned as a way to make the stake holders and the societies become closer, as well as God. The natural oriented value can be seen from the materials used on tradisi meron. Those materials is gotten from the natural ingredients. For example, iber-iber made of bamboo, ancak made of wood, the useness of woh-wohan to fulfill ancak, and the useness of leaves such as ron wandhira (banyan tree) that is set next to ancak.
