ABSTRACT Nugraheni, Rima Amairani. 2017. The Ekranisasi of Fumi Yoshinaga’s Comic Oooku Volume 4-6 to Fuminori Kaneko’s Film Oooku Emonnosuke Tsunayoshi Hen. A thesis in partial fulfillment of the requirement for S-I Degree Japanese Department, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. First Advisor Drs. Redyanto Noor, M.Hum. Second Advisor Yuliani Rahmah, S.Pd, M.Hum. Comics was not only enjoyed as a literature, but also the inspiration of directors to make movies. The literature that is adapted into a film is called ekranisasi. One of the films that resulted from the comic is an Ooku film by Fuminori Kaneko. Oooku volume 4-6 tells about the greed of Shogun Tsunayoshi inherits the Shogunate by becoming the fifth female shogun. An outbreak of a disease that only affects males results in the tragedy of life that reverses the history of patriarchy. This research uses a structural theory to analyze the intrinsic elements constructing the comic include theme, plot, character, setting, points of view. Comparison theory to analyze the differences and similiaritis of comic and film. Ekranisasi theory to analyze the changes that happen likes reduction, addition, and variation changes after a literary adapted into film. This research uses a qualitative method. Based on the research that has been done can be concluded that between comic and film there are similarities and differences. The analysis of the ekranisasi caused subtraction, addition, and alteration. Subtraction occur in character and plots. Additions occur in the plot and place. Then variatiom changes occur in character, plot, time. Keywords: Structural fiction, comparative literature, comic, film, Oooku.
