Abstract

ABSTRACT Widi, Iklima Saskia. 2017. "Makna Lirik Lagu Band My First Story dalam Album Antithese Kajian Semiotika Riffaterre". Thesis of Japanese Literature Program, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Advisors I Zaki Ainul Fadli, S.S., M. Hum. The purpose of this research is to reveal the essence and the message through finding the incompability of expression and heuristic and hermeneutic reading. Data is taken from the lyrics of the band My First Story on Antithese”s 悪 戯 Fiction, Home, One Light, The Puzzle and Tomorrowland. The method used in this thesis is the method of providing data by library research. The method used to analyze the data in this thesis is semiotic Rifaterre method. The results of this study found 16 changes of meaning in the lyrics of the song. In the categories of deviation the meaning is subdivided into 3 categories namely (1) ambiguity, (2) contradiction, and (3) nonsense. Through this study found 22 ambiguities, 4 contradictions, and 0 nonsense. In the last category in the continuity of expression found 3 creations of meaning in the lyrics of the song in the Antithese album. Hereafter, the theme of the song 悪 戯 Fiction is family. The theme of the Home song is hope. The theme of the One Light song is Abstinence surrender. The theme of the song The Puzzle is destruction. The theme of the song Tomorrowland is friendship.
