MODALITAS BEKI DA DAN NAKEREBANARANAI DALAM KALIMAT BAHASA JEPANG 日本語におけるモダリティ「べきだ」と「なければならない」

Abstract

ABSTRACT Lutviani, Henda. 2017. “Modalitas Beki da dan Nakerbanaranai dalam Kalimat Bahasa Jepang”. Thesis, Department of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The Advisor Lina Rosliana, S.S., M.Hum. In this writing thesis, the writer discussed “The Modality Beki da and Nakerebanaranai in Japanese Sentence”. The aim of these research are to describe the structure and the meaning of Japanese modality such as beki da and nakerebanaranai. The writer obtained the data from Japanese novel and as well as website. Those data were collected using note taking technique. Then, to analyze the structure and the meaning of modality beki da and nakerebanaranai, the writer used descriptive qualitative method. Meanwhile, the writer applied distributional method and substitutional technique to depict the relation of those modality’s second meaning. Based on the data analysis, the result show that the modality beki da and nakerebanaranai have almost equal structure and meaning. The modalities of beki da and nakerebanaranai can be attached to verbs, nouns, adjectives i and na also past tense. Modality beki da has the meaning of obligation, fairness and necessity while the modalities nakereba naranai have meaning obligations and necessity.. Keyword: modality, beki da, nakerebanaranai
