GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG PENCEGAHAN KANKER SERVIKS PADA SISWI DI SMPN 2 UNGARAN

Abstract

The incidence of cervical cancer in Central Java were increasing continously. Cervical cancer was caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV can be transmitted sexually and non-sexually. Prevention of cervical cancer can be done as early as possible for students. The main factor that can affect the implementation of cervical prevention for adolescents is the knowledge of the parents. Maternal knowledge will influence the mother’s attitude and behavior towards cervical cancer prevention. Parents can prepare for the prevention of cervical cancer for their daughters through great knowledge. Prevention of cervical cancer such as HPV vaccine and pap smear. This study aimed to find out more about the mother’s knowledge of the prevention of cervical cancer disease in SMP 2 Ungaran. This research used descriptive research method. The sampling technique of this research was using Slovin formula for population of 481 mother so N were 143 respondents. The data collection used is proportional random sampling. The result of this research is 81 (56,6%) respondents have enough knowledge, 39 (27,3%) have good knowledge and 23 (16,1%) of respondents have less knowledge about cervical cancer prevention at SMPN 2 Ungaran. Advice for the government is to provide socialization to the mother about the prevention of cervical cancer that can be done as early possible to reduce the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer in Indonesia.
