Clinical learning aims to apply the theory of a clinical situation in a real way. Clinical learning is perceived to be successful if students can achieve their clinical competence at every phase/stage. The success of clinical learning is influenced by two factors: internal and external factors. One of external factors that most influences clinical success learning is clinical instructor. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between students perception about clinical instructors and clinical competences. This is a quantitative research with descriptive correlation and cross sectional design that used questionnaire as a data collection instrument. The sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling with 177 samples. The result of this study showed that 142 students had good perceptions about clinical instructors (80.2%) and 117 students (66.1%) could achieve clinical competences. Based on the results of statistics tests with Chi-square, it was obtained p value 0.000 (p< 0.005) which can be concluded that there is a relationship between the perception of students about clinical instructor to the achievement of clinical competence of nursing students.
