HUBUNGAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN DENGAN KUALITAS TIDUR ANGGOTA KELUARGA PASIEN ANAK DI RSUD K.R.M.T. WONGSONEGORO

Abstract

Hospitalization is a condition that will cause a crisis in the child’s life so that will increase the anxiety level of family members. The anxious family members will have an effect on their body and potentially interferes with their quality of sleep. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the pain and sleep quality in family members of pediatric patients. This study used a quantitative descriptive correlation using cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling with a total sample of 154 respondents. The data were collected using the questionnaire State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Sleep Quality Questionnaire (SQQ). The data were analyzed using spearman rho statistic test. The results of this study showed that 55.8% respondents had a state anxiety with moderate level of anxiety, 87.7% respondents had a trait anxiety with mild level of anxiety and 52.6% respondents had a good quality of sleep. From the statistic test showed that there was a relationship between state anxiety level and sleep quality in family members of pediatric patients (p=0.001) and there was no relationship between trait anxiety level and sleep quality in family members of pediatric patients (p=0.331). Nurses are needed to help family members to decrease anxiety level and improve their quality of sleep. Keywords: Anxiety, Sleep Quality, Family
