Hubungan Antara Motivasi dengan Perilaku Pembatasan Intake Cairan pada Pasien Penyakit Ginjal Kronik Tahap Terminal yang Menjalani Hemodialisis

Abstract

The crisis of excess fluid makes patients chronic kidney disease (CKD) terminal stage undergoing hemodialysis (HD) is important to maintain fluid balance. It can be seen from the fluid intake restriction behavior that be affected by patient motivation. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between motivation and fluid intake restriction behavior on respondents. This was quantitative research with correlational description design with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was total sampling with inclussion criteria were patient CKD stadium 5 that HD in RSUD Tugurejo Semarang minimal 3 months, ≥18 years old, composmentis and cooperatif. Total respondents were 71 patients. The research data was taken using questionnaire then processed using bivariate analysis. The result showed that 52.1% low motivation and 60.6% did not adhere to the behavior of fluid intake restriction. The result of spearman rank test showed that there was correlation between motivation and fluid intake restriction behavior on respondents with correlation coefficient 0.438 (p: 0,000; α = 0,05). This research recommend the nurse to do support group for sharing experiences fellow patients HD and make plan behavior modification for improve the tricks for restrict fluid. Besides, patients can improve motivation by disscuss the problems, seek information, and work up the support.
