The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test and the independent sample t-test. The result of Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference in the cigarette dependence score between the intervention and control groups with a p-value of 0.028. The independent sample t-test result also showed a significant difference in the CO level between the two groups with a p-value of 0.000. The present findings showed that hypnotherapy using induction hanung technique affected the level of cigarette dependence and CO in exhaled breath among the active smokers.
