Abstract

ABSTRACT Aulia, Dhiya. 2017. “Kepribadian Tokoh Utama dan Tokoh Sahabat dalam Novel Shikisai wo Motanai Tazaki Tsukuru to, Kare no Junrei no Toshi karya Murakami Haruki; Kajian Psikoanalisis”. Japanese Department Thesis, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The Advisor Nur Hastuti, S.S., M.Hum. This research aims to explain about the personality of the main character and prominent figures in the novel Shikisai wo Motanai Tazaki Tsukuru to, Kare no Junrei no Toshi by Murakami Haruki. This novel tells about the character of Tsukuru who has four bestfriends during high school, namely Aka, Ao, Shiro, and Kuro. One day, when Tsukuru took his college education, his four friends asked Tsukuru not to contact them without giving any explanation. The method which used in this research is to obtain data with literatures. The theory used in this research is the theory of literary psychoanalytic according to Sigmund Freud, to analyze the personality of the main character and prominent figures in the novel. The results show that Tsukuru has a big id, but the ego and superego aspects of Tsukuru are trying to suppress the id so as not to get bigger and self-controlled by Tsukuru. Tsukuru's friends also have a great id to side with Tsukuru, but their ego and superego aspect suppresses id because of what they think is much more important to do than to side with Tsukuru.
