Abstract

ABSTRACT Novega, Tio Krisnawaty, 2017. “The Comparison Between Japanese Floklore Entitled Ama No Hagoromo and Indonesia Folklore Entitled Jaka Tarub on its Comparative Study of Literature. Thesis , Departement of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities. Diponegoro University. The First Nur Hastuti, S.S., M.Hum. The Second Advisor Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd., M.Hum. Folklore is the story of the past that become an earmark for each nation with diverse cultures, includes those nations varies cultures and history. One folklore that has similarities on their story was Ama No Hagoromo folklore from Japan and Jaka Tarub folklore which is from Indonesia. Because of the similarity, the writer wants to analyze the intrinsic elements to find out the difference and the similarity. The goal of this research is to answer the problem about what the differences and the similarities of intrinsic elements The Comparison Between Japanese Floklore Entitled Ama No Hagoromo and Indonesia Folklore Entitled Jaka Tarub. Analysis of the instrinsic elements consist of theme, character and the characterization, plot, setting, point of view, and message. The methods that is used in this research are structural method and comparative study method. Structural method is used to analyze the intrinsic elements from both folklore and comparative study method is used to compare each of intrinsic elements. Thus, the differences and the similarities of intrinsic elements from both folklore can be reached as the final result. The result shows that there are similarities on the minor theme, the number of main character and characters characterization, the plot, the place, and the social conditions. The differences can be found on the major theme, number of additional characters and conflict, also social background.
