INOVASI FONETIS PADA KANTUNG SUNDA DI WILAYAH KECAMATAN WANAREJA KABUPATEN CILACAP

Abstract

Culture of a region has self-identity that characterizes itself to be an ethnic, so administrative boundaries couldn’t limit certain culture of a society, including language. Therefore, it is not surprising to find cultural pouches that characterize a certain region, but can be found in other region at different administrative area. As well as the Sundanese pouches in Wanareja District of Cilacap Regency where bordering with West Java Province. The use of Sundanese in this area can be easily intersect with the use of Javanese. There are so many language variations can be formed and allowing them for language innovation due to internal and external factors. This study has aims to explain the process of forming internal in phonetic innovation in the Sundanese pouch as a Standard Sundanese Language (SSL) which experienced with phonetic changes in Sundanese at Wanareja District (SWD). The methods used in the data collection process is field pupil method, which visiting informants directly in the field with note and record techniques. Determination of informants by means of certain requirements, at this condition the number of informants are 21 people who divided into seven villages or observation points in Wanareja District. For data analysis, this study uses the method of matching to find out the form innovation on SWD by comparing SWD vocabulary with SSL vocabulary. The theories used in this study are dialectology, geography dialect, language pouch, language innovation, phonetic innovation, scrutinize method, and matching method. The results of this study indicate that the spread of innovative BSW variants occurs in a controlled and systematic way, changes occur in words, syllables, sounds and specific sound environments. This can be proven through the types of phonetic innovations as well as the patterned forms that occur on the innovative BSW variant. Through the form of innovation that makes it easier and clarify the pronunciation of vocabulary sound, is expected to improve the effectiveness of the use of language in its function as a means of communicating. In addition there are also other phonological phenomena that can be approximate in the stage of the formation process from the original form to the form of innovation and form of innovation that has the same sound but different meaning (homonym).
