Abstract
Lyliana, Lea. 2017. "Poetry Studies by Subagio Sastrowardoyo Study of Nietzsche's Existentialist Philosophy." Thesis (S1) Indonesian Literature. Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University. Adviser I Laura Andri R.M., S.S., M.A. and adviser II Khotibul Umam, S.S., M. Hum. The poetrys of Subagio Sastrowardoyo contains the author's life view of the radical purpose of life and the shadow of death. His poems contain elements of philosophy related to human existence. This thesis uses Nietzsche's philosophy of existentialism as an assisted approach with layered norms of Roman Ingarden, to reveal its structural elements. The purpose of this thesis to reveal the form of self-existence by the author who appears implicitly in his poetry. The method used in this study is a qualitative method that uses data collection methods through literature study with the technique of refer to note. Presentation of data analysis is done using descriptive explanation analasis. The results of the analysis in this study, as follows: the form of human self-existence contained in each poem is different, but the four poems show the same process to achieve self-existence. The realization of the existence of Subagio Sastrowardoyo is implicitly implied through the characters who play a role in poetry. The character acts as a subject in progress to become an ubermensch. The process is to follow the will of power. The entire poem shows the achievement of the subject succeeded in becoming a ubermensch after going through the dilemmas of his life. The success of ubermensh becomes absolute after he is able to accept the concept of 'the return of all things' or to submit to the purpose of life and the owner of his life.
