PERJUANGAN HIDUP TOKOH UTAMA DALAM NOVEL JANGAN BUANG IBU, NAK KARYA WAHYU DERAPRIYANGGA SEBUAH TINJAUAN PSIKOLOGI SASTRA

Supervisor of the Dr. M. Abdullah, M. Hum. and Laura Andri R.M., S.S., M.A. as the second supervisor. Material object of this study is novel “Jangan Buang Ibu, Nak” (JBIN) works Wahyu Derapriyangga. This study used a qualitative method which is based on structural theory and the theory of psychology literature. The purpose of this study is to describe the intrinsic elements and reveal the struggle of life main character in the novel JBIN. The author uses the structural theory to explain the building blocks of the novel (the characters and characterizations, plot, background). In addition, the authors also use psychological theory literature to examine the struggle of life main character through the theory of Maslow Abrams (physiological needs, safety needs, needs love having-owned, esteem needs and self-actualization needs). The results the structural of analysis of the novel “Jangan Buang Ibu, Nak” is that there are seventeen figure consists of one main character and sixteen additional characters; characterizations contained in the main character has four presentation techniques; grooves found on the novel “Jangan Buang Ibu, Nak” forward plot because the process are shown in sequence. The results of the analysis of the struggle in character “Mrs. Ana” is that the has great struggle for her children. It can be seen through the attitude shown by character “Mrs. Ana” in educating and raising her eldest, middle and youngest children. “Mrs. Ana” struggle is not smooth, she had to go through many peculiarities of life. Initially, he was desperate, but thanks to the encouragement and determination and love for the ex-husband and her children, she is able to deal with it. Based on the analysis of the struggle of life shows that the character “Mrs. Ana” in novel “Jangan Buang Ibu, Nak” can be clarified into five categories: physiological needs, security needs, needs the love of belonging, esteem needs and self-actualization needs.
