Abstract

ABSTRACT Yuni M. Lestari Sianipar Effective Behavior of Nurses as Clinical Educators While Giving Clinical Guidance in Tugurejo General Hospital Semarang xv + 76 pages+ 3 tables + 2 pictures + 14 attachments The nurse was a professional who has the ability, responsibility, and authority to provide nursing care. While in the hospital, a nurse serves as a functional nurse who provides nursing care to the patient, but some of them also act as clinical educators who provide guidance to students who are in clinical practice. Work as functional nurses and clinic educators lead to excessive workloads that make clinic educators unfocused. The un-focus experienced by the clinic educator gives a bad effect for the students such as students experiencing anxiety and stress. This study aims to determine the behaviors of clinical educators who are effective in providing guidance based on the perspective of clinical educators themselves in RSUD Tugurejo Semarang. The research design used was qualitative with phenomenology approach through in depth interview. Determination of the sample used purposive sampling with the number of participants as much as 5 clinic educators. The result of the research shows that the general appearance of effective behavior is considered important because it gives effect to the students, the clinic educator as an exemplary figure, the clinical educator behavior will be embedded in student's memory, become the reflection of the future student and describe the nature and attitude of the professional nurse.
